Development

This page under further development.

The mission of the Newman Center is to form the future leaders of the Church and world, and the Development Office seeks to gather the resources necessary for the Newman Center ministry to execute that mission successfully.

Our 100+ year-old ministry has grown tremendously over the past 100 years to serve more than 500 students every week.  Today, our capacity is virtually maximized given our current space and infrastructure – but the need has not diminished, quite the opposite.

Masses are typically standing room only, our classrooms are overflowing with programming, and our retreats continue to expand year after year.  There is an estimated 12,000+ Catholic students on campus, and the Newman Center is focused on reaching all of them, and more, with your partnership.

Gifts of time and talent are priceless and essential.  Your mentorship of our students can do much to change their lives.  Volunteering with our councils, helping graduating seniors network by completing a registration form, or attending student events to lend a hand or give advice, help our members embrace a life-long appreciation for their faith.

Gifts of treasure are critical.  Ministry funds are the means by which we share our Catholic faith with the campus and world through our diverse programming and services.  It takes approximately $380,000 annually to fund this life changing ministry, and we can’t do it without your generous support.  Any gift does make a difference.  Please prayerfully consider supporting the Newman Center financially by making a gift today.

Join the Living Faith Society today!

One of the fastest, easiest, and most secure and rewarding ways you can support Newman financially is through the Living Faith Society.

Living Faith members make an ongoing pledge of financial support through our donation website.  Any size gift makes a difference.  As you know, a strong base of recurring support gives Newman the best financial foundation from which to grow the ministry.  Your pledge joins with the pledges of people all across the country in transforming our ability to serve the students.

As a sign of our appreciation, Newman will send you the free quarterly Catholic devotional, Living Faith!  Filled with reflections on one of the readings for the day, it’s a great way to deepen your prayer life.  Additionally, Living Faith members are invited to our annual Appreciation Dinner in May/June.  This annual event celebrates our partners in campus ministry over the past year, and is always an exciting and rewarding experience.

On behalf of the entire community at the Newman Center, thank you for your generous support!

Leave your legacy for generations of Catholic Huskies.  Please remember the Newman Center in your estate planning.  For more information, contact our Development Director, Chris Hanzeli at (206) 527-5072 or chris@uwnewman.org.
